Hello once again from the Deep South, here in Georgia. The weather is warming up and the mosquitoes are out in droves. We’ve had a lot of rains recently and the river bottoms have been flooded for several weeks. Most of the leaves have returned on the trees and with the wind blowing most of these days, starting a pup treeing has been pretty tough. It is still fun to watch a pup mature into a squirrel dog, even with all the highs and lows.
As I write this article in the last week of April, I am pleased with the recent progress of the AFBA. Dog registration has begun, AFBA Breed Inspectors Tracy Davenport (GA), L.B. Chapman (IN) and Tommy Collins (TX) have joined our ranks and we are beginning to plan a few competition hunts for the year. Tracy is also the webmaster for the AFBA and has been doing a great job of keeping the website updated. Registration information can be reviewed and printed from the website at americanfeistbreedersassociation.com. AFBA President Mike English has been meeting regularly via the online chat room/phones with the officers and Board of Directors to hammer out the details of this new association. We appreciate everyone’s support and patience as we “push on out into deeper water” to try to make this association successful.
